Aeronautical Systems Inc. officially broke ground on their 8-acre property in the Craven County Industrial Park today, Dec. 14.

A leading provider of engineering, manufacturing and MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) services, ASI announced its plan to invest $5.6 million to expand its facility in June.

“We are here because of the community,” said Phil Rodriguez, CEO of ASI. “…You are very close to an airport, you have an excellent education system, but more importantly, you all are ready to take on ideas and take on initiative.”

ASI has operated in a small capacity in New Bern since 2012 and has seen the economic growth that has taken place since, as well as the area leaders’ dedication to Craven County’s future.
